Designed to be assembled, disassembled and carried easily, the First-Step Leg Bath is a convenient solution for people that suffer from, or care for, lower limb disorders, such as leg and foot ulcers, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and other conditions that require the lower limbs to be bathed in solutions or emollients.
Treatment of lower limb disorders using conventional buckets and bowls – which are often not sterile – is time consuming and difficult for patients unable to lift their legs. The main drawback is that treatment carried out in this way does not soak the patient’s leg for enough time and has a tendency to create a lot of secondary infections.
First-Step™ is a simple solution to this problem. It consists of a bath made from durable plastic fabric supported on a sturdy metal frame, which can be easily dismantled and transported in its own back-pack. It has a maximum undisplaced capacity of 30 litres and can be lined with a disposable membrane. The frame can be adjusted to lower or raise the volume of the bath allowing easy use for patients with limited leg mobility. After use, liquid can be removed with the bucket and battery-powered siphon.
